The Central Design Bureau of Transport Engineering (TsKB TM), which is part of Roscosmos, has created a new generation freight car for transporting missiles and satellites. As noted, such a car meets “increased requirements for the safety of transported goods.”
“One of the features of the car is the use of a long-stroke elastomeric apparatus with a maximum stroke of 700 millimeters as a central shock absorber of the movable center beam. A preliminary calculation estimate showed that the developed damping system makes it possible to provide longitudinal accelerations not exceeding 3g in the frequency range from 0 to 20 Hz in the event of a collision of a car with a relative speed of 22 kilometers per hour with a striker car weighing 90 tons,” the creators described the special car.
More details about the novelty will be told at the Royal Readings, which will be held from January 24 to 27 in Moscow.
