Testing of the first sample will be completed by the end of the year
According to the Rostec state corporation, the United Engine Corporation will complete tests of the prototype of the new industrial engine AL-41ST in December of this year. This development with a capacity of 25 MW is intended for use in the fuel and energy industry: in gas pumping equipment.
Rostec has developed a 25-megawatt industrial engine for the fuel and energy complex
Rostec noted that UEC enterprises are now experiencing increased demand for their products, which is caused by the departure of foreign suppliers from the Russian market. Foreign products occupy about a quarter of the Russian market for low- and medium-power turbines, and now they need to be replaced by imports. A line of new AL-41ST ground-based power plants is already in development; by the end of the year, it is planned to complete testing of the first 25-megawatt engine at the manufacturer’s stand, and in February 2024, to begin testing the second model. The new engines will have a long service life – up to 150 thousand hours.
In the next few years, a wide range of domestic gas turbine equipment should enter the market for such industries as hydrocarbon production, liquefied natural gas production, and electricity generation. The capacity of gas pumping equipment will be 16, 25, and 32 MW; such units are necessary for the implementation of national projects related to gas transportation, Rostec said.
