Rumors: Aspyr really took over the development of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake
Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier in an interview with YouTube channel MinnMaxShow, confirmed the developer studio of the still unannounced remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Let us remind you that rumors about a radically modernized version of “Knights of the Old Republic” have been circulating for several years now and are not least fueled by Schreier himself (and not only ).
In February 2020, the journalist said that if the work on the remake is underway, it is not within the walls of Electronic Arts – until recently, the exclusive creator of games in the Star Wars universe.
Since then, fans have had any idea who might be updating Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – in January 2021, suspicion fell on Aspyr Media. And, it seems, not in vain.
“This is, in fact, a well-known fact. I’ve practically confirmed that Aspyr [Media] – the company that has ported several KotORs – is working on a remake, ” Schreier revealed.
It is worth noting that Aspyr Media is distinguished by its love of Star Wars and its star line-up. The company includes several former employees of BioWare, the development studio of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
In early February of this year, it became known that Aspyr Media was acquired by the Swedish holding company Embracer Group. The publishing house is developing a “big game” with a budget of $ 70 million.
