We will remind, in June there were rumors that AT & T is considering the possibility of getting rid of the gaming division of Warner Bros. Take-Two Interactive, Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard, and even Microsoft have allegedly shown interest in the deal.

Subsequently, WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar assured employees that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will remain part of the company along with other brands.

Bloomberg informants attribute the change in direction (so far not final) to a change in AT & T’s leadership – in July, John Stankey took over as chief operating officer.

According to Bloomberg, AT&T’s decision not to sell Warner Bros. Several factors influenced: firstly, the potential of the still unannounced RPG in the Harry Potter universe and the success of games during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Second, AT&T allegedly underestimated the difficulty of selling a company with a lot of licensed content, such as Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is in abundance.

In addition to the unannounced Harry Potter, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment expects a lot from two DC comic-inspired projects: Warner Bros. Gotham Knights. Games Montreal and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League from Rocksteady Studios.
