The Video Games Chronicle portal, citing its own sources, reported that major changes have taken place in the development of the still unannounced remake of Resident Evil 4.

Recall that in April 2020, it was Video Games Chronicle that revealed that Capcom had commissioned the M-Two Inc. studio back in 2018. (the team participated in the creation of a remake of Resident Evil 3 ) modernization of the cult action horror.

Now the role of M-Two Inc. In the face of the project, it was decided to significantly reduce and involve in the development of Consumer Games Development Division 1 – the internal studio of Capcom, responsible for the games Resident Evil and Devil May Cry.

It is assumed that M-Two Inc. tried not to deviate far from the original Resident Evil 4, recalling the criticism towards the remake of Resident Evil 3: the game was scolded, among other things, for lack of content from the original source.

The Consumer Games Development Division 1 team allegedly advocates more radical changes: Resident Evil 4 as a source of inspiration, but its own view of the features, locations and plot elements of the game.

According to the informants of the Video Games Chronicle, due to the change in the development team, the Resident Evil 4 remake is now facing a partial reboot. Because of this, the game will be released later than planned – not in 2022, but in 2023.

Capcom is not new to such abrupt changes in production. According to unconfirmed information, remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 at one time also underwent similar transformations.
