Rumors: concept art of 10-year-old version of STALKER 2 appeared on the web
For the first time, STALKER 2 was officially announced on August 13, 2010, but in December 2011, the project was canceled, and the GSC Game World studio was disbanded. Exactly how the anticipated sequel of the franchise was conceived at that time, you can imagine thanks to the fresh concept art that appeared on the Web.
The images were shared by the AP-PRO: STALKER Newsgroup on the VKontakte social network. The community is a fan community, so the publication does not claim official status.
In the published illustrations, you can see several places on the territory of the Zone. For example, a forest of stone pillars near an unknown complex and abandoned industrial buildings with high barriers. Concept art also features a mock lab, an anomaly that mirrors nearby objects, and a rotten locomotive.
Two images deserve special attention. The first demonstrates a system for improving weapons with the help of modifications, which the developers planned to implement. The second is a satellite image with a highlighted area (probably the canceled STALKER 2).
As a reminder, STALKER 2 was re-announced in 2018. The game is due out on PC, Xbox Series X, and S, but a release date has not yet been disclosed.
