Rumors: Elden Ring will feature classes, character editor and online features from the Souls series

The other day, we will remind you that almost two minutes of Elden Ring gameplay got on the Network. According to journalists and insiders, the video was not intended for public display and is dated best in 2020 (or even 2019).

According to Omnipotent, the leak was not planned and deliberately orchestrated by Bandai Namco Entertainment and From Software to create additional hype for the game.

“Bandai created this trailer for internal use. Likely, From didn’t even know [about the video], and even less was responsible for it, ”the insider commented.

As for the details of Elden Ring itself, Omnipotent claims that the game will have a class system familiar from the Dark Souls series, a character editor, and online functions  (co-op, competitive multiplayer).

All three elements have been present to varying degrees in From Software‘s RPGs since Demon’s Souls, but Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, the studio’s most recent release, hasn’t found a place for them.

Elden Ring is announced for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The project still does not have a release date or timeline. According to VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb, the next official screening of the game will occur before the end of March this year.
