Rumors: Microsoft partners with IO Interactive, known for Hitman

In a recent episode of The Xbox Two podcast, blogger Rand al Thor and Windows Central editor Jez Corden talked a lot about Microsoft’s plans. For example, they shared information about the release of Starfield in 2021 as an Xbox console exclusive. And the presenters hinted at the possible cooperation of the corporation with the studio IO Interactive, known for the Hitman series.

In the video below (at 2:12:30), Rand al Thor and Jez Corden discussed the idle chatter around the Web regarding the Warner Bros. acquisition. Interactive Entertainment by Microsoft. Then Rand al Thor mentioned the creators of Hitman, after which Jez Corden said: “I can only advise you to watch IO Interactive” The reporter did not provide more information on this, but it is unlikely that we are talking about a purchase.

Rumors about the possible acquisition of IO Interactive by Microsoft arose back in 2018, but they have not been confirmed. And recently, the Danish studio was noted for the successful release of Hitman 3, which is published on its own, and announced a game about James Bond. She seems to be doing well, so making an Xbox console exclusive could be very real.
