Rumors: the presentation of the remake of Prince of Persia will take place on September 10

A remake of Prince of Persia may be announced next week. In the Triple Click podcast, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier revealed that Ubisoft will unveil the game on September 10 at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward online show.

For some time now, rumors have circulated on the web about the development of a new Prince of Persia. So far, they have not been officially confirmed, but many suggest that we are talking about a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time – the first part of the “Sands of Time” trilogy.

The final game in the main series is Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, developed by Ubisoft Montreal. The game was released in 2010 on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo DS. The project takes place between Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. In the story, the Prince visits the palace of his older brother Malik, but at the same moment, the kingdom is attacked by invaders. To save his home, Malik releases Solomon’s magical army, which turns all residents into sand statues. It is not the first time for the prince to fight mystical enemies, so the hero decides to help his brother.

It is also possible that Ubisoft will decide to completely restart the Prince of Persia series, as it already did in 2008. Also, earlier this year, a Reddit user discovered a demo of the unknown Prince of Persia Redemption. As it turned out, Ubisoft already tried to revive the franchise in 2012, but the project was closed for unclear reasons.
