Rumors: the release of the new part of God of War will also be postponed to a later date
Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier in his microblog, commented on the chances of the release of the next part of the God of War series during the current year.
Recall that the premiere of the still-unnamed sequel to God of War (2018), announced as part of the September presentation of the PlayStation 5 Showcase, is officially expected in 2021.
Despite the relative proximity of the release, the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, did not mention the new God of War in a recent interview with GQ, unlike Horizon Forbidden West announced for the second half of the year.
An insider Nibellion saw in the situation a hint of a possible postponement of the next God of War, and Schreier confirmed these guesses: the release of the project really should not be expected until the end of 2021.
“I have a wonderful selling bridge for anyone who thinks God of War is coming this year,” Schreier said.
From the same interview with Ryan, it became known about the postponement of Gran Turismo 7. The premiere of the new part of the Polyphony Digital racing simulators was being prepared in 2021, but due to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed until 2022.
God of War is officially announced exclusively for the PlayStation 5 but may appear on Sony consoles’ previous generation. At least the already mentioned Ryan in November 2020 did not refute this.
