Both projects are being developed by several studio teams’ efforts, including those in Sheffield and Newcastle. One of the games is a multiplayer third-person shooter based on the new franchise. Nothing is reported about its scale in the vacancy text – it can be both small and large. For him, the studio needs specialists with significant experience working on the PvP component.

More is known about the second game. It belongs to the AAA-class and is a new part of a  popular series of open-world action games. We may be talking about the next Crackdown. Crackdown 3, the first part of the series developed by Sumo Digital, was released in February 2019 for PC and Xbox One. This assumption is supported by rumors of Microsoft’s desire to buy the studio.

In the announcement of the search for an artistic director for the team of the big-budget game, it is said that the specialist will “expand the gameplay and narration of the existing IP. ” The studio is also looking for two senior game designers, one of whom  “specializes in characters, combat and movement mechanics. ” Several positions, including a sound programmer and lighting artist, describe the project as “a huge unannounced AAA game for consoles.” The publisher wants it to “really stand out from the competition.”

Sumo Digital has been around since 2003. During this time, she has released many games of different genres – from sports (Virtua Tennis) and racing simulators (Race Driver 2006, F1 2009) to adventure (Doctor Who: The Adventure Games), platformers ( LittleBigPlanet 3 ), and action games (Crackdown 3). The studio creates its own projects and ports games from other developers (for example, it transferred Forza Horizon 2 to the Xbox 360). Its newest game, the platformer Sackboy: A Big Adventure, entered the PlayStation 5 launch lineup (at the same time it appeared on the PlayStation 4) and received quite high press reviews (Metacritic rating – 79-83 / 100 ).
