After eight
While 5G is just beginning to spread in various countries, and in some new networks are not even planning to appear, industry giants are already working hard on the next generation.
Samsung called the timing of the appearance of 6G networks. The first commercial networks will appear earlier than in 10 years
When it comes to 6G, it is often said that development and all other processes will take about 10 years. Samsung has decided to set a more specific time frame. A recent document from the company regarding 6G said that the Korean giant expects to start commercializing the sixth generation networks in 2028, and this process could become widespread in 2030. That is, the first 6G networks can be launched in a commercial mode in about eight years.
Samsung speaks of a peak data transfer rate of 1000 Gbit / s with a delay of fewer than 100 μs, which in the first case is 50 times better than 5G, and in the second – ten times less than 5G.
The document also lists the conditions and technologies that may be necessary to meet the 6G requirements. This is the use of the terahertz range, new antenna technologies to expand the signal coverage area, advanced duplex technologies, the use of AI, and so on.
