The product, manufactured using 5-nanometer technology, has received a new three-cluster architecture. A total of eight computing cores are involved. The most powerful node contains a single ARM Cortex-A78 core clocked at 2.8 GHz. Another unit combines three ARM Cortex-A78 cores, but their frequency is lower – up to 2.6 GHz. Finally, the third node includes a quartet of ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 2.0 GHz.

The “heart” of the graphics subsystem is the Mali-G78 MP10 accelerator. Supports encoding and decoding of 4K HEVC (H.265) /H.264/VP8/VP9 video materials at up to 60 frames per second.

It can work with WQHD + displays with a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz and FHD + with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Cameras with resolutions up to 200MP are supported, as well as dual cameras in 32 + 32MP configuration.

Among other things, the mentioned controllers Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 802.11ax, FM radio, the receiver of navigation systems GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo. Devices based on Exynos 1080 can be equipped with LPDDR5 / LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 flash drives.

The integrated 5G modem supports operation in bands below 6 GHz and millimeter waves: in the first case, the data transfer rate reaches 5.1 Gbps, in the second – 3.67 Gbps.
