Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra became the most requested 5G smartphone in early fall

Counterpoint Technology Market Research has released its latest ranking of the world’s best selling fifth-generation (5G) mobile smartphones. At the end of September, the list was headed by one of the flagship Samsung devices.

In particular, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has climbed to the top of the ranking: it accounted for about 5.0% of the total sales of 5G devices in piece terms.

In second place is the Huawei P40 Pro with 4.5%, which was the market leader in August. Another 5G Huawei device closes the top three – the Nova 7 device with a share of 4.3%.

Overall, seven of the top ten best-selling 5G smartphones are developed by Chinese companies: in addition to Huawei with its former subsidiary Honor, the Top 10 also includes OPPO and Vivo devices.

It is noted that in January of this year, the ten most popular 5G smartphones accounted for 93% of the total sales of such devices. At the end of September, this figure was 37%.

We add that in the near future there will be major changes in the ranking of the most popular 5G devices. This is due to the US sanctions against Huawei, as well as the appearance of the first 5G Apple smartphones – devices of the iPhone 12 family.
