Lately, there have been several worrying messages about the future of the Samsung Galaxy Note series. Following the release of the Galaxy Note20, there was talk of Samsung adding S Pen support to the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy Note lineup being canceled.
Samsung Galaxy Note smartphones got a chance to rescue
Yesterday, President and head of Samsung Electronics’ mobile division Tae Moon Roh (TM Roh) spoke about Samsung’s plans for 2021, announcing that S Pen stylus support will no longer be exclusive to the Galaxy Note series.
According to the South Korean news agency Yonhap News Agency, Samsung will offer support for the S Pen on more devices, but the company may not end the Galaxy Note series eventually. The source quotes an anonymous Samsung Electronics spokesman as saying the company is indeed planning to launch new Galaxy Note series devices next year. A Samsung employee added the following: The fact that Samsung plans to add Galaxy Note features to other devices doesn’t necessarily mean the Galaxy Note lineup will be canceled.
Since Samsung has not officially confirmed or denied any of these reports, it is not yet clear what will happen in the end. It’s possible that the Galaxy Note will get a successor next year, and then the company will still abandon the line.
