Called Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy
The rumor that the future flagships of the Samsung Galaxy S23 will receive a modified version of the single-chip system was confirmed by the 9to5Google resource – the authors of the article refer to the documentation in which the single-chip platform of these phones is called not just Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy.
Its peculiarity lies in the increased frequency of the Cortex-X3 supercore up to 3.36 GHz (in the standard version, the Cortex-X3 frequency is 3.2 GHz). Previous tests do not demonstrate the superiority of Samsung flagship prototypes relative to other flagships on the same SoC, but we need to wait for production models to be tested.
It is possible that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy can be used in other Samsung flagships (for example, the Galaxy Z Fold5), but so far this is nothing more than a guess.
The official premiere of the new Samsung phones will take place on February 1, but all the characteristics of the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra have already been revealed.
