The smartwatch Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 was released back in August last year, and their most important innovation was the ECG sensor.
True, it didn’t work right away, but only now: according to a source, Samsung finally brought the function to mind and received permission to use it from the local South Korean regulator – the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS).
So users of Galaxy Watch Active 2 in South Korea, if they have not got access to ECG measurement right now, will get it in the very near future.
The issue of function operability in other countries is still open. It’s one thing to bring technology to mind, and another to get the approval of local regulators for its use.
Bureaucratic procedures may drag on, and so far it is unlikely that anyone will undertake to say exactly how much and in which country. Nevertheless, the fact that the function finally worked as it should is already encouraging.
