Samsung has quietly cut down on the camera capabilities of the Galaxy S23 smartphones. With the next recent update, these devices have forgotten how to shoot video in 8K with an increased bitrate.
Messages that the corresponding settings item became inactive appeared about a month ago, but they paid attention to this only now. Interestingly, the item itself was not removed from the settings.

Apparently, the changes were included in the June update. The reasons for this action on the part of Samsung are unknown, but earlier some users complained that when this function was activated, video shooting could occur with freezes. Perhaps Samsung decided to either disable it altogether for this reason, or temporarily disable it until a fix is implemented.
