Samsung wants to replace the failed Galaxy S20 with smartphones of the next generation as soon as possible

Interesting news came from Korea. According to a source, obviously well familiar with the situation within the company, Samsung has seriously shifted the production plans for its new flagship Galaxy S21. So, if the assembly of the Galaxy S20 began in January this year, the assembly of the Galaxy S21 will begin next month: the company asked partners to start mass production of components for the Galaxy S21 in November – at least one and a half months earlier than usual.

Samsung is in a rush to launch the Galaxy S21. The announcement of the smartphone may take place in December

The reason for such a rush is Samsung’s desire to release a replacement for the Galaxy S20 as soon as possible, the demand for which remains weak. Moreover, speaking of the Galaxy S20 and S21, in both cases, we mean the entire line. Two sources among component manufacturers have already confirmed rumors that they will begin mass production of components earlier than usual.

However, the earliest possible production of components does not mean an early start of sales. Perhaps Samsung simply does not want to step on a rake Apple: when the iPhone 12 Pro was announced in October, and sales start only a month later. And it’s the same with the iPad Air 4. The early launch of the Galaxy S21 will allow Samsung to maintain adequate inventory levels and avoid shortages. But we cannot exclude the possibility of the Galaxy S21 announcement already in December. For example, together with the Snapdragon 875 single-chip platform, on the basis of which the new product will be built. Actually, it is the release of Snapdragon 875 that is still a limiting factor for Samsung: Qualcomm is clearly not one of the suppliers of components that can quickly increase the release of components at just one request.
