Samsung is preparing a foldable smartphone Galaxy W21 with 5G support

Samsung, according to network sources, is preparing for the release of the next smartphone in a folding case. The device with the code designation SM-W2021 was spotted on the website of the Wi-Fi Alliance.

Network sources report that the new product will debut in the commercial market under the name Galaxy W21 5G, replacing the Galaxy W20 5G model shown in the images. The last of the named smartphones, in fact, is a modification of the Galaxy Fold with a flexible 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display QXGA + screen. The equipment includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, 5G modem, 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and a 512 GB flash drive.

It is not yet clear what kind of performance the upcoming Galaxy W21 5G will receive. It, like its predecessor, can be made in the form-factor of a book or in the form of a classic clamshell, elongated vertically.

It is known that the novelty will receive a Wi-Fi 6 wireless controller with support for the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands. Presumably, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus chip will be used in conjunction with a 5G modem, and the amount of RAM will be at least 12 GB. The device will ship with the Android 10 operating system.

It is reported that the official presentation of the novelty will take place at the end of this year. The Galaxy W21 5G smartphone is likely to debut in November or December.
