Samsung is preparing a tablet based on the processor MediaTek Helio P22T

2021 has just begun, and Samsung has already launched several new smartphones, including the flagship Galaxy S21 family. Now it looks like the company is gearing up to introduce new tablets. Today we reported that Samsung is preparing a 5G Galaxy Tab S7 Lite tablet and showed renders of the alleged Tab A 10.1. Now, a Samsung tablet codenamed SM-T225 is spotted in the Geekbench benchmark database.

According to the benchmark, the device is based on the MediaTek MT8768WT chip, known by the marketing name Helio P22T. This processor is rarely used by OEM manufacturers. For example, the Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Plus tablet is based on it.

The MediaTek MT8768WT features eight Arm Cortex-A53 cores up to 2.3 GHz. The chipset will work in conjunction with 3 GB of RAM, which indicates that we are talking about an affordable device. The operating system will be Android 11. In the single-core Geekbench test, the tablet scores 810, and in the multi-core – 3439 points.

Some sources suggest that this tablet will be released as the 8.4-inch Galaxy Tab A. However, the fact that last year’s model has the model number SM-T307 suggests that this is an even more affordable model.
