Earlier, Apple has already ordered the production of SoC from Samsung
As you know, Apple has begun converting its computers to processors of its own design. However, Apple’s desire to use its own processors in all of its computers may be hampered by the limited manufacturing capabilities of TSMC, which makes these processors. Apple has been working with TSMC in this area for several years, but TSMC has other large clients, for example, Qualcomm. Business Korea analysts say this creates the likelihood that Apple will attract another supplier – Samsung.
Samsung may become Apple M1 SoC supplier
Apple previously ordered the release of processors from Samsung, but stopped doing so in 2015. The situation may change now, as the South Korean giant has recently mastered the production of products at 5 nm standards. Samsung’s first 5nm SoCs are due soon. The source believes it is entirely possible that Apple’s M1 SoC lineup will be part of this first wave.
Working with TSMC and Samsung at the same time would help Apple secure enough 5nm SoCs to meet the huge demand for the products that use them.
