These are panels with Mini LED backlight technology. This system uses an array of microscopic LEDs. Such illumination allows realizing the technology of local dimming by dividing into zones with independent adjustment.

The Mini LED system delivers an OLED-level contrast ratio. At the same time, the cost is significantly lower than that of OLED panels.

It is known that for the next year, Samsung is slated to produce 2 million smart TVs with screens using Mini LED backlighting. There is no information about the size of the panels. It can be assumed that 4K matrices with a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels will be used.

Now the range of the South Korean giant already includes such families of TVs as The Frame, The Serif, The Sero, and The Terrace. The Premier panels are expected to join them shortly – they will probably receive the Mini LED system.
