Samsung has announced two new lines of SD memory cards that are described as “exceptional speed and increased reliability.” Pro Plus and Evo Plus cards are addressed to users of cameras, camcorders, and PCs.

Memory cards are offered in 32, 64, 128, and 256 GB sizes. They support the UHS-I interface. The sequential read speed in all cases reaches 100 MB / s. Evo Plus series memory cards also record data at speeds up to 100 MB / s. Pro Plus series memory cards write data at speeds up to 90 MB / s (32 GB model – at speeds up to 60 MB / s). These indicators are sufficient for shooting 4K video and burst photography.
The new memory cards use “complex seven-step protection”. It includes protection against water, low and high temperatures, X-rays, magnetic fields, as well as shock, and other mechanical influences. For example, the card can be in saltwater at a depth of up to 1 meter for 72 hours and remains operational at temperatures from -25 ° C to 85 ° C. Both lines are backed by a 10-year limited warranty.
Depending on volume, Evo Plus cards range from $ 7 to $ 40, Pro Plus cards range from $ 10 to $ 50.
