Samsung smart TVs get Google Assistant support in Europe

Google Assistant launched on 2020 Samsung smart TVs in the US last month. It is now available outside the US on 2020 Samsung QLED 4K and 8K TVs, Crystal UHD TVs, The Frame, The Serif, The Sero, and The Terrace. Previously, these TV models owners had access to personal assistants, Bixby, from Samsung and Amazon Alexa.

Users of the above models can now use Google Assistant to switch channels by voice, adjust TV volume, or control compatible smart home devices such as thermostats or lighting. You can also ask Google Assistant to show the weather forecast, play music, or launch apps. Plus, you can search for content by genre, director, or actor. Google Assistant will also give you access to Google services like search, photos, maps, and a calendar on your TV.

The new functionality is currently available in the US, UK, France, Germany, and Italy. By the end of the month, the service will be launched in the list of countries by Spain, Brazil, India, and South Korea; later, the list will be expanded.
