Samsung SmartThings Find helps you quickly find your lost Galaxy smartphones

The South Korean company Samsung has introduced a service called SmartThings Find: this system allows you to quickly and easily find smartphones and other Galaxy devices, even if they do not have an Internet connection.

The service is based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology and ultra-wideband (UWB). At the same time, the search for lost gadgets is carried out at the expense of other SmartThings users.

In particular, after 30 minutes of being offline, the lost device starts transmitting a BLE signal, which can be registered by other devices in the vicinity: from them, the location data will be sent to the Samsung server. From there, the signal will be sent to the owner of the lost gadget. All user data of SmartThings Find is encrypted and securely protected, so the location of the device will not be revealed to strangers.

After determining the location, the user will be able to get to the desired place thanks to the instructions on the map. When approaching a point, the owner of the device can turn on the sound signal or the “Search Nearby” function based on augmented reality: color graphics will appear on the screen, which becomes brighter as you get closer to the object.

The new service is suitable for detecting smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices of the Galaxy family.
