The other day it became known that Samsung quietly deprived the Galaxy S23 smartphones of the ability to shoot video in 8K with an increased bitrate . Now it turns out that the feature itself was not supposed to appear on smartphones in the first place.

On the official Samsung forum, the moderator said that the function was mistakenly introduced in one of the software updates. And they turned it off simply because it was too resource-intensive and, as some users reported, it sometimes worked incorrectly.

Apparently, Samsung is not going to return this feature to its current generation flagships, but it may appear in the Galaxy S24 line, which will receive Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
