BOE will be the only supplier
The foldable screens for the Huawei Mate X2 were supposed to be supplied by Samsung and BOE. However, supply chain sources confirmed that the South Korean company was unable to supply displays for the new flagship.
Samsung was not allowed to supply screens for the next-generation foldable smartphone Huawei Mate X2
The fact is that Samsung has not received permission from the US Department of Commerce to do business with Huawei, so only the Chinese manufacturer BOE will supply displays for the Huawei Mate X2.
According to previous leaks, Huawei Mate X2 will receive a foldable screen with a diagonal of 8.01 inches with 2480 x 2220 pixels. The front of the phone will house a 6.45-inch display with a resolution of 2270 x 1160 pixels. The device will be powered by the 5nm Kirin 9000 SoC, which Huawei has already confirmed. The main camera is expected to use image sensors with 50, 16, 12, and 8 megapixels. The camera should support 10x hybrid zoom. The device will be equipped with a 4400 mAh battery; its dimensions will be 161.8 x 145.8 x 8.2 mm and a weight of 295 g.
Huawei will unveil the next-generation foldable smartphone Huawei Mate X2 on February 22.
