Samsung will continue to use AMD GPUs in its Exynos SoCs for a few more years

The companies extended their respective agreement

AMD and Samsung have extended their agreement to use the former’s GPU in the latter’s single-chip systems.

As part of this agreement, we are waiting for several generations of Samsung Exynos platforms with graphics cores based on AMD architectures. The first such platform, we recall, was the Exynos 2200, but so far it remains the only one.

Together with AMD, Samsung has revolutionized mobile graphics, including our recent collaboration that brings ray tracing to mobile processors for the first time in the industry. Building on our technological know-how in developing ultra-low power solutions, we will continue to innovate in mobile graphics 

There are no details in the press release. In particular, it is not yet known whether Samsung will use AMD GPUs in Exynos mid-range SoCs or whether it will continue to be limited exclusively to flagship platforms.
