Samsung will hold a presentation of smartphones Galaxy S21 on the evening of January 14
Rumours that Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S21 smartphone may be unveiled on January 14 have been officially confirmed. Samsung has sent out an invitation to the media for the Unpacked event scheduled for this date, which starts at 6:00 pm Moscow time. The invitation contains the slogan under which the presentation will take place – “Welcome the Everyday Epic” (Welcome to the everyday epic).
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Galaxy Unpacked event will be held in a virtual format. The presentation will be broadcast live on the company’s website, as well as on YouTube and other channels.
The company is expected to announce three new smartphones at the event, successors to last year’s Galaxy S20 series: the S21 and S21 Plus models, which are expected to be very similar in specs except for size, and the S21 Ultra model. The S21 Ultra smartphone will get a more powerful camera in addition to a curved display and support for the S-Pen stylus.
Thanks to numerous leaks, the characteristics of new products are no longer a secret. The Galaxy S21 smartphone, according to insiders, is equipped with a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with Full HD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the Galaxy S21 Plus model has an AMOLED display diagonal of 6.7 inches, the resolution and refresh rate are the same, and The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a large 6.8-inch QHD + display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Smartphones for the US market will receive the Snapdragon 888 chipset, while the global versions will use Samsung’s own Exynos 2100 chip.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphone will be equipped with a new second-generation 108MP main camera, complete with two 12MP sensors. The Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus models are expected to have a 64MP main camera complemented by two 12MP sensors.
According to rumours, the new items will go on sale by the end of January.
It is also reported that in addition to the Galaxy S21 series smartphones, the company will present the Galaxy Buds Pro wireless headphones, which can compete with Apple AirPods Pro.
The Galaxy Buds Pro will ship with a wireless charging case in three colour options. New headphone features include active noise cancellation as well as support for spatial audio.
And one more novelty that can be announced on January 14th at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event is Galaxy SmartTag. The accessory is a smart tag that can be attached to a wallet, keys or any other device so that it can be tracked in case of loss. The Galaxy SmartTag is expected to cost between $ 20 and $ 30, allowing it to compete with Tile’s key fobs.
