Samsung will unveil Micro-LED and Mini-LED TVs and other new products with advanced displays on January 6

Samsung has begun sending out invitations to an online showcase of new display technologies on January 6, 2021. The company may also introduce new TVs, monitors, laptops and tablets.

Samsung kicks off each new year with the announcement of a new family of TVs. At the announced event “The First Look 2021”, the company is expected to show the first TVs with Micro-LED and Mini-LED matrices, as well as new 4K and 8K TVs based on QLED. Judging by the silhouettes drawn in the invitation, the company may also present a monitor, laptop and tablet with new display technologies.

There are rumours on the internet that the South Korean company wants to ditch OLED technology in a new generation of TVs in favour of Micro-LED technology. The fact is that this type of matrix can provide the viewer with the same image contrast, wide viewing angles, while not having the problems common for OLED matrices. In particular, display burnout (it can occur when a static image is displayed on an OLED screen for a long time) and flickering. Micro-LED is a new technology and its main problem at the moment is its high cost.

It turns out that Samsung will have two presentations in January 2021. Earlier it was reported that on January 12, the company will hold an event at which it will present a new generation of Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones. Also today, reputable insider Evan Blass showed off photos of the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook2 laptop, which the company is expected to announce soon.
