Seasoned World of Warcraft Game Designer Leaves Blizzard Because He Doesn’t Like The Current State of the Game

Game Designer and World of Warcraft veteran Chris Kaleiki has left Blizzard Entertainment. The reason for leaving was the current state of the game. Kalki doesn’t like the direction of the project, and the release of WoW Classic only strengthened his opinion.

Chris Kaleyki released a video in which he told why he left “Blizzard”. The thing is that his vision of the future of World of Warcraft is different from how Blizzard views the project. According to the game designer, WoW had two strengths that have lost relevance over time: guilds, which encouraged active communication and interaction between users, and a storyline, where the player became the key person. And in the latest expansions, the studio is trying to make its MMORPG comfortable for singles and shape the story in a completely different way.

After the release of the classic version of World of Warcraft, Chris Kaleycki only became stronger in his opinion. However, he doesn’t call WoW a bad game. On the contrary, the game designer praises the talented Blizzard team and accepts the fact that the modern version of the project is liked by millions of users.

As a reminder, the Shadowlands expansion will be released for World of Warcraft on November 24. It will send players to explore the Dark Lands and will bring many changes to the MMORPG.
