Recall that the Sega series of crime fighters began to really quickly gain popularity in the West only with the release of Yakuza 0 in January 2017 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive.

Since then, the series has become multiplatform and more accessible: the upcoming Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be released simultaneously on five systems, with two dubs and text translation in five languages (two more will be added after the release ).

At the same time, there is still room for improvement: in particular, reducing the delay between the release of the next Yakuza in Japan and other countries. Yakuza: Like a Dragon had to wait almost 10 months.

“The next step for the franchise will be a simultaneous release. We cannot sit and wait from six to nine months after the premiere in Japan and hope for a similar result, ” Stricart is sure.

According to Stricart, this idea will require close cooperation with the Japanese branch and a complete overhaul of the release schedule, but there is no other way for the further development of the series in the West.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be released on November 10 on PC (Steam, Windows 10), PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and S, and will reach PS5 on March 2, 2021. The game was premiered in Japan on January 16, 2020, but only on PS4.
