Shuttle tries its hand at the medical equipment market

The shuttle has partnered with subsidiary Carilex Medical to develop IT products for the healthcare industry. The company expects that in 2021 the share of revenue provided by this segment will exceed 20%.

Specifically, Shuttle and Carilex have jointly developed a non-contact temperature scanning kiosk and negative pressure wound healing device. The kiosk implements the integration of artificial intelligence and face recognition technologies to determine the temperature of the human body, even if the face is covered with a mask. These kiosks are already in use in many large hospitals in Taiwan. Negative pressure wound healing devices will soon be launched in the US, UK, Brazil, and other European countries.

In addition, according to Cheng, Shuttle has adjusted its manufacturing strategy by discontinuing laptop ODM manufacturing and outsourcing mini-PC manufacturing to First International Computer.
