It should be emphasized that not only smart speakers are taken into consideration, but also smart displays. From October to December, the total sales of such gadgets amounted to 58.2 million units. This is 4.3% more compared to the last quarter of 2019 when shipments were 55.7 million units.

Amazon became the leader of the global market in the last quarter with a share of 28.3%. In second place is the giant Google, which accounts for 22.6% of the industry. Thus, these two companies jointly control more than half of the market.

Baidu holds another 11.3%. Alibaba follows with a 10.8% share. Then there are Apple and Xiaomi with a score of 7.8% and 6.5%, respectively.

Analysts estimate that smart displays accounted for 26% of sales in the total quarterly market. For comparison: a year earlier this figure was 22%.

At the end of 2020, smart speakers and smart displays’ overall sales reached a record value of more than 150 million units.
