You need to consider the version of AnTuTu
According to early reports, Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 SoC should just be a slightly overclocked version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, i.e. identical to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. And in this case, it is not necessary to expect a significant increase in productivity. However, a Digital Chat Station insider posted a photo that indicates that the increase will be rather big.
Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 scores over 1.7M on AnTuTu, but is it all good?
The photo shows the Nubia Red Devil 8S Pro smartphone, which is gaining 1.7 million points in AnTuTu. For comparison, the Red Devil 8 Pro model scores about 1.3 million points. However, there is a nuance that, apparently, the insider himself did not notice. The result of the new smartphone is obtained in AnTuTu 10. This version is already available as a beta version. And the developers themselves warn that the results in AnTuTu 10 will be higher than in AnTuTu 9 on the same device. This has always been the case with the release of a new version of the benchmark. There are still very few results of smartphones in AnTuTu 10 on the Web, but from what we have, we can conclude that the increase simply from changing the version is about 20%. This means that the current model Red Devil 8 Pro is gaining about 1.55 million points in AnTuTu 10. And then the gain from changing the platform is only 10%,
There are also two other aspects worth noting. Firstly, this year Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 should be presented already in October, that is, Qualcomm does not have much time to bring out the updated flagship SoC of the current generation, and manufacturers have to release updated flagships. Secondly, recently the same source published a photo of a smartphone allegedly on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and it scored about the same 1.7 million points, and also in AnTuTu 10. That is, probably in one of these cases, the data about the platform are wrong.
