Other platforms will find it difficult to compete with the Snapdragon 875

Last week we already wrote about the impressive results of the test of the single-chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 platform in AnTuTu , and now an insider from China has concretized the results using the example of an engineering sample of a smartphone built on this SoC. Judging by this data, other platforms with Snapdragon 875 will be very difficult to compete.

The Snapdragon 875 CPU reportedly scored 333,269 points in the AnTuTu benchmark, and the GPU’s 342,225 points. For comparison, the CPU and GPU benchmarks of Snapdragon 865 and Kirin 9000 are 290,169/294,913 and 275,862/344,344 points, respectively. That is, in terms of the capabilities of the GPU, the Snapdragon 875 will be at the level of the Kirin 9000 (and this platform uses a very powerful 24-core Mali-G78 graphics), but the Snapdragon 875 central processor is noticeably superior to the CPU and Snapdragon 865, and the Kirin 9000.

And here two points should be noted. First, the Snapdragon 875 has not yet been finalized (at least by software), so performance may improve by the time it is released. Secondly, and this is a fundamental point, the maximum frequency of the high-performance core of the CPU Snapdragon 875, according to the source, was 2.84 GHz. While the Kirin 9000 CPU reaches 3.13 GHz! The Snapdragon 865 has the same 2.84 GHz CPU, but the performance is lower. So the new Kryo cores in the Snapdragon 875 will be much more powerful, and you shouldn’t discount the overall architecture improvements. So so far – on paper and rumored – SoC looks very promising.
