Snoop Dogg showed his generosity by making a $10,000 donation to an elderly woman from Hilton Head Island, who was at risk of losing her family’s land
In a heartwarming display of generosity, Snoop Dogg has joined the ranks of celebrities supporting a GoFundMe campaign for a nonagenarian embroiled in a dispute over her family’s land.
The rapper/entrepreneur’s representative confirmed to CNN that he donated $10,000 to Josephine Wright, a 93-year-old woman from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Wright’s 1.8-acre parcel of land, which has been in her husband’s family since the Civil War, is currently at the center of a legal battle with developers.
Snoop Dogg shared his motivation for the donation, saying, “I did it from the heart. She reminds me of my mother and grandmother.”
The legal conflict arose when a developer sued Wright, claiming that her satellite dish, shed, and screened-in porch were obstructing the construction of planned new homes by encroaching on their property. In response, Wright filed a countersuit, alleging a relentless campaign of intimidation, harassment, and trespass in an attempt to force her to sell her property.
The plight of this courageous woman has resonated with other celebrities as well. Studio head/actor/director Tyler Perry took to his verified Instagram account to express his support, offering to lend a helping hand in her fight.
The outpouring of support from Snoop Dogg, Tyler Perry, and other compassionate individuals showcases the power of collective kindness in times of need.
