Sony and PlayStation Productions tackle Ghost of Tsushima with director John Wick
Ghost of Tsushima’s success did not go unnoticed: Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions have already launched the adaptation of the hugely successful action-adventure movie, which recently sold 6.5 million copies. Chad Stahelski directs the Phantom of Tsushima.
The game was created by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The project tells the story of a samurai warrior Jin Sakai – the last surviving member of his clan. The hero must abandon the traditions that shaped him as a warrior to wage a guerrilla war for Tsushima’s freedom.
Stahelski, Alex Young, and Jason Spitz are producing through 87Eleven Entertainment. Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan produce PlayStation Productions. Sucker Punch Productions will also participate – on behalf of the studio, and Peter Kang curates the project.

Ghost of Tsushima is the fastest-selling PlayStation 4 game under new IP, with over 2.4 million units sold worldwide in its first 3 days.
The Phantom of Tsushima will be the second film to be authored by Sony Pictures, and PlayStation Productions – the film adaptation of Uncharted is currently in post-production and will be released on February 11, 2022. Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions are also working on an HBO series based on The Last of Us – Craig Mazin is writing and executive producing.
Having removed the “John Wick” trilogy, Stahelsky began to prepare to create the fourth part. Films are a box office success with over $ 600 million worldwide.
