Sony is preparing its first 5G mid-range smartphone – Xperia 10 III
Internet sources have published unofficial information about several Sony Xperia smartphones, the announcement of which is expected in the first quarter of next year. It is alleged, in particular, that the first Xperia mid-range device with support for fifth-generation (5G) cellular communication is preparing for release.
We are talking about the Xperia 10 III. It is said to be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 processor. This chip combines eight Kryo 560 processing cores with a clock speed of up to 2.0 GHz, an Adreno 619L graphics accelerator, and a Snapdragon X51 5G cellular modem. Data download speeds over cellular networks can theoretically reach 2.5 Gbps.
Another novelty is rumored to be the Xperia L5. Its silicon “heart” is supposedly a MediaTek Helio P35 processor with eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores with a clock speed of up to 2.3 GHz and an IMG PowerVR GE8320 graphics accelerator. This smartphone will be designed to work in 4G / LTE networks.
Finally, it talks about the preparation of the flagship device Xperia 1 III on the Snapdragon 875 platform. This model, as noted, will receive “more than four cameras.” Thus, we can assume that Sony will equip the device with a completely new multi-piece rear camera unit.
The official announcement of all three smartphones is expected to take place at the end of February. The developer, of course, does not confirm this information.
