A big step forward has been taken

SpaceX continues to test the latest prototype of the huge Starship Super Heavy booster at its Starbase orbital launch pad in Boca Chica ahead of its next launch.

The rocket, known as Booster 9, was installed at the Starbase launch site in South Texas after a failed attempt to launch the entire Starship complex on April 20, 2023. The rocket passed a number of tests quite successfully, and now SpaceX has conducted a static fire test.

SpaceX fired up the giant Starship rocket ahead of its test flight.

The team briefly ran 33 Raptor engines on the Booster 9 at once. Not all engines worked perfectly. As SpaceX representatives said during the webcast, four of them went offline prematurely. However, 29 out of 33 is not bad, besides, both the launch vehicle and the launcher came out of the tests safe and sound. So SpaceX has a lot to celebrate.
