The Mongolian government has granted SpaceX two licenses to operate as an Internet service provider using low-orbit satellites. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the message of the government of Mongolia.

The government announcement also said that millions of Internet users in Mongolia will be able to access high-speed connections through Starlink. “ The fiber optic cable network already provides broad access to high-speed internet throughout Mongolia, but this [Starlink] technology will provide greater access in hard-to-reach areas. Pastoralists, farmers and miners living and working in our vast country will be able to access and use information from all over the world to improve their lives ,” said Digital Development and Communications Minister Uchral Nyam-Osor.
It is noted that the government of Mongolia and SpaceX have entered into an agreement to launch Starlink satellite Internet in the country during the MWC-2023 exhibition in Barcelona in February this year.
