Spelunky 2 will be a PS4 exclusive for two weeks – the PC version will be released on September 29

The founder of the Mossmouth studio, Derek Yu, announced in his microblog the launch date of his action platformer Spelunky 2 on the PC – the game will go on sale on September 29 of this year.

Despite the proximity of the release, it is not possible to pre-order Spelunky 2. On the page on Steam, where the game will appear on the specified date, only the option to add a product to your wishlist is available.

You had previously warned that the PC version of Spelunky 2 will be released “a few weeks” later than the console version, but in reality, the delay will be only 14 days. We will remind you, the premiere on the PlayStation 4 is expected on September 15.

According to the game designer, the additional time to create the PC edition of Spelunky 2 will allow the developers to properly polish the online multiplayer action-platformer.

Spelunky 2’s developers promise to bring a “huge and interconnected world” to the game, offer users a “richer and more varied” adventure, and add “new cooperative and competitive” modes.

At this stage, Spelunky 2 is confirmed only for PC (Steam) and PlayStation 4, but in the future, it may appear on other systems as well – Yu assures that the developers “want to give the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the game as many people as possible

The original Spelunky was released in December 2008 and is distributed free of charge. In 2012, the already paid improved edition of the project became available on the Xbox 360 and subsequently made it to PC, PS3, PS Vita, and PS4.
