According to Square Enix, the trial edition offers a “huge chunk” of the game for your review – several introductory chapters, which can take up to 10 hours to complete.

The publisher promises that users will receive some useful rewards for completing the demo. It will come in handy in the main game, where, if you wish, you can transfer the save from the “probe”.

A demo of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is already available on almost all (except the Epic Games Store) target platforms:

  • Steam (PC);
  • Microsoft Store (Windows 10, Xbox One);
  • PlayStation Store (PS4).Compared to the original game, Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition will offer a 2D model, new stories, an orchestral soundtrack, and two dubs (Japanese and English).

    The new release is based on the Switch version, so on PC and PS4, the extended edition will look worse than the basic one. Owners of Dragon Quest XI on these platforms will have to pay full price for the Definitive Edition, just like everyone else.

    Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is available on Nintendo Switch, and will be released on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows 10), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on December 4 this year. Pre-orders have already started.
