SteelSeries launches dust and water resistant Aerox 3 gaming mice

SteelSeries has unveiled the new Aerox 3 and Aerox 3 Wireless gaming mice. Their main feature is that they are the first gaming mice that meet the IP54 standard, which means they are protected from moisture and dust.

Despite the openness of the design, as can be seen by looking at the image of the new products, the components of the gaming manipulators are protected from dirt, dust, oil and other liquids. To do this, SteelSeries has applied AquaBarrier technology to its gaming manipulators.

The Aerox 3 wired mouse weighs just 57 grams. It uses a TrueMove Core optical sensor with a resolution of up to 8500 CPI (counts per inch). By the way, the same sensor is used in the popular SteelSeries Rival 3 gaming mouse. It was developed in collaboration with the PixArt gaming sensor manufacturer.

The claimed sensor speed is 300 inches per second (IPS), it is capable of handling acceleration up to 35G. The wired version of the gamepad has a detachable USB Type-C cable.

SteelSeries and PixArt have developed a new TrueMove Air sensor for the wireless version of the Aerox 3 Wireless gaming mouse. Its resolution is 18,000 CPI and its speed is 400 inches per second. The manufacturer claims support for acceleration up to 40G and the accuracy of transferring motion to the screen one to one.

The wireless version of the 66-gram arm uses the same Quantum 2.0 controller used in the model and Rival 3 Wireless, which we wrote about last month. Thanks to this, the Aerox 3 Wireless can work both via Bluetooth and using a USB Type-C transmitter operating at 2.4 GHz. In the first case, the novelty will provide up to 200 hours of operation without recharging, in the second – up to 80.

The package also includes a USB Type-C / USB Type-A cable for recharging and using the pointing device in wired mode, which will allow you not to be distracted from the game. With support for fast charging, the rodent’s battery can be recharged for 40 hours of use via the USB-C cable in just 15 minutes.

The wired version of the SteelSeries Aerox 3 waterproof gaming mouse is priced at 70 euros, the cost of the wireless version is 110 euros. Both versions will go on sale from November 10th.
