Sub-screen cameras will appear even in Samsung smart TVs, in addition to smartphones and laptops

Samsung has reportedly filed an application with the South Korean Intellectual Property Office to register the UPC trademark, which stands for Under Panel Camera, according to network sources.

We are talking about the camera located directly behind the display. Last week, a video appeared on the Internet announcing that Samsung plans to use sub-screen cameras in laptops equipped with organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels. In addition, such cameras will appear in future smartphones of the South Korean giant.

Samsung’s documentation that accompanies the UPC brand registration application contains interesting information. It is said that sub-screen cameras are planned to be used, including in smart TVs.

Thus, in the long term, Samsung can implement the new technology in a variety of products. In addition to smartphones, laptops, and televisions, the system can theoretically also be used in stationary computer monitors.

Rumor has it that the first Samsung device with a sub-screen camera could be the Galaxy Note 21 Ultra. Such a solution will save the display from a cutout or hole, while simultaneously implementing a completely frameless design.
