Surface Duo gets dual-screen support for Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft has added support for dual-screen devices such as the Surface Duo in the latest beta update to the Xbox Game Pass app. This will lead to greater usability when playing projects with separate touch controls (like Minecraft Dungeons and Gears 5 ).

On Surface Duo, when you launch a touch game, it splits into two screens. The upper display shows the game itself, and the controls are carried over to the lower display, representing an impromptu gamepad. Developers can adapt the on-screen controls for their projects themselves, which is why some of the games have different touch buttons and layouts.

As noted by Windows Central, some games on Xbox Game Pass support motion control using the Surface Duo’s built-in gyroscope. For example, in Gears 5, you can look around by physically moving your smartphone.

Microsoft itself hinted at this Surface Duo feature back in 2019 but has only just begun implementing it.
