Samsung may introduce a new smartwatch Galaxy Watch 3 much earlier than previous rumors predicted. The latter said that the wearable gadget will be announced at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, which, according to numerous sources, will be held on August 5, 2020. On it, the South Korean tech giant will present a new series of phablets Galaxy Note 20, as well as, possibly, a couple of new folding smartphones.
Smartwatch Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 may debut July 22
Most recently, Evan Blass, the author of numerous accurate leaks, shared a render of smartwatches, the calendar of which displays the date in English “WED | 22 “(Eng. Wednesday 22nd). As indicated by the resource Gizchina, the dates present on the renders of new Samsung devices, as a rule, indicate the day of the announcement of these products. And the only Wednesday of the 22nd until the end of 2020 is July 22nd. Thus, it is quite possible that the Galaxy Watch 3 device is announced on July 22.
It should nevertheless be noted that this information is not confirmed in any way by Samsung itself. In the end, July 22 may be the date of the announcement of the device, and actual sales of smartwatches may begin somewhat later.
It is expected that Samsung will present the Galaxy Watch 3 smartwatch in 45 mm and 41 mm versions, as well as in three colors of the case.
According to Max Weinbach, editor of XDA Developers, the Galaxy Watch 3 smartwatch may be introduced even earlier – July 8th. And “Wednesday 22nd” may report the start date of sales of this device.
He also added that the new device firmware contains hints that the Galaxy Watch 3 will be able to offer the following features:
- More detailed notification icons;
- New dials and the ability to customize them;
- New weather app;
- Using Outlook instead of Samsung Email;
- New widget “Music”.
