Tata Motors orders 1500 electric buses from DTC

Tata Motors has received an order for 1,500 electric buses from the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).

This order to the vehicle company has been given to the public sector Energy Efficiency Services Ltd. (EESL), a subsidiary of Convergence Energy Services Ltd. received under the ongoing tender.

Tata Motors said in a statement on Friday that the company will be responsible for the supply, operation, and maintenance of air-conditioned, ‘low floor’ electric buses for a period of 12 years.

Rohit Srivastava, Vice President, Tata Motors, said in a statement, “The delivery of these buses will further strengthen our partnership with DTC. Also, Delhi will help an eco-friendly transport system for the people of the city. We are committed to modernizing public transport in India.

The Tata group company has already supplied more than 650 electric buses to various cities in the country.

DTC Managing Director Neeraj Semwal said that the induction of eco-friendly buses will benefit lakhs of citizens along with a reduction in air pollution.
