Terraria and Valheim sold 35 million and 6 million units respectively

Independent studios Re-Logic and Iron Gate continue to report on new heights conquered: Terraria and Valheim have sold 35 million and 6 million copies, respectively. As a reminder, Terraria’s previous achievement was 30 million in April 2020. And Valheim’s figures last month exceeded  5 million copies.

More specifically, most of Terraria’s sales are still in PCs: according to Re-Logic, PC owners have purchased 17.2 million copies. The still-popular platformer sold 8.5 million units on consoles and 9.3 million units on mobile devices. It’s also worth noting that Terraria surpassed Portal 2 to be the # 1 highest-rated game on Steam. By the way, Terraria continues to master new platforms and recently appeared in the streaming service Google Stadia, despite the difficulties.

Valheim is, of course, still a long way from Terraria. Nevertheless, it has definitely already become an event in the gaming industry and, by the way, now occupies 1st place among the games of 2021 with the highest rating on Steam.

Created by five developers, Valheim immerses players in the original 10th Viking World of Valheim – a huge procedurally generated environment filled with mythical Nordic creatures, hunting, and crafts. Iron Gate studio was not ready for such explosive popularity and is now rapidly expanding. The team is preparing for the first major update to Heart and Home, which will fix bugs and add activities related to home, construction, and complex cooking, along with other innovations.
